I found this recipe on an Indonesian website. Looks very tasty. My Indonesian is a bit rusty these days, but I think I managed to translate it more or less correctly, apart from the fact that some ingredients (like “coffee emulco”) do not exist where I come from. Anyway, I leave it up to the reader to decide whether it’s betul atau tidak.
200 grams butter (unsalted)
1 cup castor sugar (or plain sugar)
2 cups flour (superfine)
1/4 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
– mix and sift
1/2 cup cocoa powder (1 plate melted chocolate will also do)
1 cup hot water
1 teaspoon coffee emulco (liquid coffee flavour, can do without)
1 teaspoon Nescafe
1 teaspoon chocolate emulco (liquid cocoa/chocolate flavour, can do without)
2 tablespoons vanilla flavour or 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
Mix sugar and butter (A) at medium speed until fluffy and white, add the eggs (D) one by one. Mix again until fluffy. Add the flour mixture (B) and the water mixture (C) little by little, flour-water-flour-water etc.). Pour into the paper cups, but only fill them half, because they will rise. Bake at 160C for 25 minutes.
